What do we offer?
The Academy Of Photography's aims are to provide a safe and fun learning environment where children are encouraged to learn through experience and with hands on tutorials.
Children will receive professional tuition from qualified and professional photographers, learning a wide variety of skills with professional equipment.
At the end of the course each child will receive a digital portfolio of all their work on the course which they can take home to show friends and family.
How long is the course?
The whole course is 6 hours in length, split into six 1-hour sessions run as an after-school program at the end of the school day. All we require is
How much does it cost?
The cost, per child is £39 for the whole course. This includes all use of equipment, teaching, props and a digital portfolio.
What will the pupils learn?
We have created a course designed to start with the basics of photography and getting to grips with the cameras and equipment.
From that children will learn about camera variables such as shutter speed, apature, autofocus, light metering and scene setting.
We teach all these important photographic skills through a series of tasks, for example light painting, ghost creating, close up macro, and a photo treasure hunt.
Each child will leave the course being able to take almost any camera and start taking artistic and imaginative shots instantly.
Aside from the actual skills of photography we hope to give pupils something different, and an enviroment when they can be creative, imaginative and expressive, but most importantly to create something they can be proud of and keep.
